There were many poets who inspired me, starting with the poets of my youth. Lord Byron, because he was a rebel and had a club foot, Percy B Shelley because he had the same birthday as me. But mostly because of their intense words that touched me deeply. Yes, I was an impressionable youth. In later years, I have been moved by the poetry of Leonard Cohen, Emily Brontë, Sylvia Plath, Maya Angelou, James Whitcomb Riley, Charles Mackay, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and so many more. Rimes of an Ancient Rhymer is simply a group of poems that don't relate. There is no particular theme, just many different subjects, It bounces back and forth from poems about mothers and others to everyday poems and poems that are not so every day. I hope you will enjoy this book.
