*Author is a well-connected figure within the Bay Area poetry world, as well as a literary historian interested in queer theory. *Co-organizer of Communal Presence, new narrative conference, and editor of The Bigness of Things: New Narrative and Visual Culture. *Co-publisher and editor of the small press Dogpark Collective *While writing the book the author joined gay men’s groups in the Bay Area in order to find an intergenerational gay community and found that there was a barrier between gay men his age and those older because of the AIDS epidemic. He was then inspired to write this book of sonnets dedicated to Gaétan Dugas, who was supposedly “Patient Zero” of the AIDS epidemic in North America. *Author has been widely published in journals like Amerarcana, bæst, Seven Sonnets, The Believer Logger, and Berkeley Poetry Review. *Author was an editor of Honey Mine (Nightboat, 2021), which gained recognition from The Paris Review, Fullstop and Jacket2, as well as receiving a starred review from Publishers Weekly. *Author has a PhD in literature from UC Santa Cruz.
