Descrizione |
In an understandable, exciting, and very personal style, the author recounts the events following World War II. Growing up in Ratzeburg, in northern Germany, she experienced the worries and hardships of people during the post-war period as a child. But as children do, the author, together with children from her family and circle of friends, always found ways to have adventures suitable for children, even though there was a lot they lacked. She remembers her grandmother with great gratitude, who went above and beyond to spare her large family the worst of the hunger.
