Scallywag Country and Other Stories is our sixth publication. It contains selected short stories and poems from the Short Stories Unlimited 2024 open themed writing competition. The beauty of conducting a competition with an open theme is that it allows the writers to really cut loose. Unrestrained, they come up with topics as diverse as nature itself. This year's offerings were no different and between these pages you will find stories of cows and octopuses, health retreats and brothels, murder and love (or a bit of both) and that never ending inspiration for writers everywhere, human behaviour.
