Denton Crouch had been a Texas Ranger and having been in Arizona working with Braxton Starr, an Arizona Ranger, he had become enamored with the Arizona lifestyle over the years and at last a sherif's deputy. But he was burned out. He was looking for a retirement avenue, so he could follow his friend, Braxton Starr, into the cattle business.
